Regina's Progress

Regina was born with cerebral palsy and suffered from difficulty eating and strong reflexes affecting her muscle tone and head control.  When our team met her, she was malnourished, and her mother could only position Regina lying on the floor.  Her mother had brought her to therapy, but Regina did not respond well, so she did not continue.

Our team gave her a blender so that her mother could prepare soft, nutritious foods for her, and Regina quickly gained weight!  She began to tolerate therapy to decrease her tone and increase control of her head and body using a peanut ball.  After we gave Regina a stroller, she and her mother enjoyed increased freedom to go out and visit with others.  Her mother learned these therapy exercises and continues to help her daily.  We are pleased to say Regina is making slow progress, and her family is thankful for our assistance.
