This village was near the epicenter of the 2018 earthquakes that struck Lombok. The village already had access to water, however, the piping network was simply placed on top of the ground and multiple leaks had occurred due to the condition of aging and damaged pipe.

This village is located adjacent to our first project in the Pangsing area, but far enough away that they were not able to enjoy the benefits of the initial project. We were able to work with this small community to replace a 300 meter hose that was used to provide water from a well to this portion fo the village with actual water pipe.

In April 2019, Access Life Bali began a water project in the village of Insakan, Pedawa, Buleleng. The nearest water source to this village is not very strong, which has led to a great lack of water, especially during the dry season. As a result, water was scarce.

Yunita’s leg was severely injured during an earthquake at the end of 2018. Her injury became infected. She and her physicians decided they needed to amputate her leg below the knee.

When we met Nora in January 2018, she could walk a little bit, but had decreased strength, coordination, difficulty in speaking, and memory loss. We gave her a wheelchair to improve her mobility and safety around her house.

A container of 520 wheelchairs was shipped from China by Free Wheelchair Mission, and arrived in the port at Surabaya on August 17, 2017.  Since then, due to several issues, we faced many obstacles in trying to import the container.

Early in 2013 we completed a clean water project in this village on the northwest part of Bali.  The family to the right, who live in Tinga-Tinga, now have water piped right to their home, thanks to the efforts of our Access Life Bali team.
