The World Health Organization estimates indicate that up to 1 in 10 people in developing countries are disabled, and that, of these, less than 3% have access to the world outside their front doors.
     
 

After a 3 month delay in Customs in Jakarta the container of wheelchairs has arrived at the hospital in Lampung.  The container will be split and a portion of them will be shipped to our team in Bali.  Our two teams have already identified over 100 people with disabilities who will be receiving one of these wheelchairs free of charge.

These wheelchairs will be given at no cost to the poorest of the poor without discrimination who meet the following criteria:

  • The recipients must not already have a wheelchair or walker
  • The recipients must need a wheelchair for mobility
  • The recipients must have some support from family or friends
